World War Z 2 Might Launch in 2021 With Brad Pitt in the Cast

World War Z is one of those apocalyptic action horror movies, which first made its appearance in 2013. It was a blockbuster, and it earned $540 million, with a budget of $190 million. The movie has earned huge numbers on the box office, and also positive reviews from the audience.

We knew there was a sequel right after the first movie was released. Brad Pitt stars in the film, in a crucial role – a former United Nations investigator who must stop the zombie pandemic.

In the movie, we can also see James Badge Dale, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, David Morse, Peter Capaldi, Ludi Boeken, Fana Mokoena, and many more.

World War Z 2 Release Date

The filming was supposed to start, but it was postponed twice: for Fincher’s work on Mindhunter, and for Pitt’s work for Quentin Tarantino. The filming will probably start this year, so we expect it to be released in 2021.

Is the cast returning?

Without a single doubt, Brad Pitt will be back as UN agent Gerry Lane. Mireille Enos will also reprise her role as Karin Lane. We haven’t heard anything about the rest of the cast since 2016.

So what’s the plot?

The first movie ended with Gerry, who found that the zombies would not look for injured people or terminally ill ones, which leads to his theory of injecting himself intentionally with pathogens so that zombies would leave him alone. This way, he would not be a good host for the virus.

Gerry does it, and he is free to walk around zombies – none of them attack him. This discovery allows humans to form their wave of resistance against the zombies, and that’s where the movie ends. So, we might get a World War Z 2 movie with Brad Pitt in the cast.
