Nine years ago, the popular game Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands was released. We have no sign of a new Prince of Persia game, but we got iOS and Android versions in the meantime. We are not in luck if we want a PC version, that’s for sure, and we are not feeling good about it.
The Prince of Persia Trilogy was one of the best series ever made in this field. But it seems that people forgot about it after the release of the Assassin’s Creed series. Should Ubisoft make another Prince of Persia game in upcoming years?
Why is this something they need to do?
Both Assassin’s Creed and Prince of Persia have their own fan base, but Prince of Persia has been appreciated for years now. If Ubisoft stops focusing on Assassin’s Creed and starts thinking about Prince of Persia, then they might make the game alive again.
Why is Prince of Persia better than Assassin’s Creed?
First of all, the storyline is better. Prince of Persia is more consistent, and the story just flows easily. When it comes to Assassin’s Creed, they deal with different timelines, and sometimes it’s hard to follow what’s going on.
Second of all, the game mechanics are outstanding. The team behind the Prince of Persia developed a way of battle from series to series. It was the same simple principle of mechanics. In Assassin’s Creed, it really depended on the tool that the player has.
Is a new game possible at this moment?
At this moment, a new game is not possible, due to Ubisoft’s chaotic schedule. They have a lot on their plate, including Assassin’s Creed updates, and Ghost Recon – these are their priorities. There might be a possibility if the schedule gets freer.
