Naughty Dog’s long-awaited sequel, The Last of Us Part II has finally been announced. The game will be released on the 19th of June this year. Initially, the developers announced its arrival on the 29th of May, but it was postponed after the outbreak of coronavirus. The delay was caused by the fact that the employees were forced to work from home, given the social distancing measures and the lockdown period.
The series was launched for the first time back in 2013, and it is available only for PlayStation users and will be continued with the second version of this year. The storyline begins with Ellie, the protagonist of the game that needs to find his way to survive the unprecedented events in a post-apocalyptic American society, where most of the humans have been transformed into monsters.
More about The Last of Us Part II
A series of leaks have reached the Internet, offering impressive detail about the plot of The Last of Us Part II. The crucial information was revealed by a former employee of the studio a couple of days ago. The details were available for several hours, and after that, they were deleted from most of the websites that have published them.
The officials from the Naughty Dog studio have publicly declared that they are disappointed to see that their work is being revealed online way ahead of the arrival of the game. However, the leaks have determined the officials to announce a release date, and probably the game’s launch was even pushed ahead in the event of these occurrences.
The company is now hoping that the interest in their next match will not decrease due to the information spread on the Internet. We are expecting more Sony exclusive titles, besides The Last of Us Part II, to be available later this year since most of them have been delayed. Ghosts of Tsushima, for example, will be released on the 17th of July, instead of the 26th of June as it was previously mentioned.
