When The Division 2 was finally launched back in March, the cover-based shooter set in the capital city of the USA received positive reviews from fans and critics alike.
However, things took a worse turn, as the developers promised that the game would expand over time, but that did not happen, and many fans were left disappointed.
After only a few months since release, the game was losing its playerbase, so developers released a paid expansion named Warlords of New York in hopes of reviving the game.
The update takes players back to the location of the original 2016 Division game. The pandemic that affected the world of The Division 2 started in New York City, so the DLC is like a return to ground zero.
The Division is a government-based force of sleeper agents scattered throughout America who is activated after a bio-weapon attack on Black Friday.
In the game’s storyline, Keener was one of the first rogue agents, turning his back on The Division and the federal government alike.
In the original game, he left NYC and started working with the creator of the deadly virus. Now he has returned and recruited a quartet of lieutenants to help him take over control of New York. They are the infamous Warlords of New York.
Players have to track them down, fight through their armies, kill them, and find relevant details about Keener’s whereabouts.
The hunt for Keener requires about six hours, depending on how much time you spend in the game’s side missions and how hard you search for collectibles along the way. That is pretty much as far as the story goes, mainly because the game allows players to tackle any warlord in the order they choose.
