Rumors Say That Sherlock Season 5 Has Been Canceled The reason why Sherlock Season 5 is not going to be released this year is that the the makers BBC studios are working on other projects, so their time is planned to finish these projects first. Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat are focusing on Dracula's upcoming series for the BBC Network, which means that Sherlock Season 5 is postponed although it should have gone live by now. Nothing more can be said about the awaited Season 5 release date until the show gets a greenlight the next installment of Sherlock. Besides the maker of the show being busy with other projects, the cast of the TV show is also working on other projects. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are working on several other movies and TV series, such as Doctor Stranger 2 and Fargo on FX, for example. The most important thing is that the Sherlock Season 5 is NOT CANCELLED. The TV show is just postponed until both sides clear off their busy schedules.
