Samurai Shodown made a comeback at the beginning of the year, reviving the legendary series. Samurai Shodown burst back onto the scene earlier in the year. Not only did this mark the return of the games, but also the return of the developer, SNK.
Fans have been expecting the game to arrive on Nintendo switch for months now, and the release date has finally been announced.
SNK announced that the Nintendo Switch port of Samurai Shodown will come in the west early at the beginning of next year. Its Japanese release will take place a little bit sooner, being scheduled for December 12.
The news might disappoint some western fans who have been patiently waiting waiting to get their hands on the newest title in the stalwart arcade series. However, there is some good news as well. The western Switch release will offer a pre-order bonus consisting of 1999’s Neo Geo Pocket Color title Samurai Shodown! 2.

The game is now available on other platforms, like PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia. Samurai Shodown proved to be a hit on these platforms, its popularity rising continuously. Even more, a PC port is also expected to drop at some point in the not-so-far future.
