If you’re a fan of adult animated science fiction sitcoms, surely Rick and Morty caught your attention. Rick Sanchez, who is a cynical mad scientist, gets involved in many funny and tumultuous adventures along with his grandson Morty Smith. The two are the main characters of the show, and since the launch from 2013, they gathered an impressive number of viewers.
We already know for some good amount of time that the Season 5 for Rick and Morty is under the works. Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, who are the creators of the show, confirmed it:
“We’re literally writing season five while finishing season four just to force ourselves to commit to a certain schedule. Not to get anyone’s hopes up, but it is structured into our deal that if we’re going strong and fast there are options to deliver more episodes at a time,”
Release Date
The creators of the show are also offering some compelling and useful information in this area, although it’s not so precise:
“The plan has always been to get them out quicker. I think it’s safe to say without fear of being wrong that the gap between seasons three and four will be the longest and last time that it’s ever so long that it’s ridiculous. I don’t know how fast we can do it, but I know it will never be this long again.”
The gap that they’re talking about is about two years. Therefore, we can expect Season 5 for the Rick and Morty show to start airing in a maximum of another two years after the release date of the final episode of Season 4.
What will Season 5 bring
We can expect that Morty will buy a new ship and Jerry will make a log cabin. The regular voice cast will come back in the fifth season. The creator Justin Roiland will be voicing the main characters, Rick and Morty. Sarah Chalke from Scrubs will play Beth or her clone, Chris Parnell will take Jerry, and Spencer Grammer will get into the role of Summer.
