Rick Sanchez, together with Morty Smith, make a great team ever since 2013 when the show first aired when it first won our hearts with unique humor and originality.
The second season was released in 2015, then the third season in 2017. Then, in 2019, we got the first five episodes of the fourth season, in November. Fans started to wonder when we will get the next episodes, and if there would be a season 5.
According to Adult Swim, the answer is yes. They renewed the series with more than 70 episodes, which means that the show will have more than five seasons if we are to take into account the fact that a season has ten episodes.
We know that you might be worried because there was a long wait between season 3 and season 4. The show’s creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have talked about their plans: “The plan has always been to get them out quicker. I think it’s safe to say without fear of being wrong that the gap between seasons three and four will be the longest and last time that it’s ever so long that it’s ridiculous. I don’t know how fast we can do it, but I know it will never be this long again.”
They have also talked about season 5, and the story behind it. they stated they were writing season 5 while still finishing season 4, just to make sure that they were following a schedule. They want to deliver the episodes on time, and they are doing the best they can.
Season 5 of Rick and Morty could be released in April 2020.
