Capcom is currently developing the Resident Evil 4 Remake concept, and the release date is supposed to be possible in 2022. This project has been under discussion since 2018, and the developing team is led by Tatsuya Minani, the founder of the PlatinumGames.
Other external studios may join in the development process of the game, bearing a resemblance to how the Resident Evil 3 was directed. The leading director of this project is Shinji Mikami, the same as for the past games.
Resident Evil 4 Remake Might Be Under Development at Capcom
Resident Evil 4 was released back in 2005, and it is proudly presenting the most rising success of all games. The company managed to sell over 7.5 million copies all around the world, is available for multiple platforms. The most impressive feature of this game was the horror installment that made it one of the highly recognized games of the 2000s.
Two years later, the company brought improvements to the motion control and made the game available for PlayStation 2 and Wii. A graphics improvement arrived with the apparition for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and computers in 2011. The following five years have brought another version for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Capcom has made the objective of releasing an annual version of their game. This year the Resident Evil 8 is underlining the third annual release of a new storyline. Last year, Resident Evil 2 was highly appreciated by the broad public. The company has managed to sell 6 million copies.
However, the revenue received after the apparition of Resident Evil 3 was almost a third than is was achieved in the past year. Also, the remake has received bad reviews, and the numbers in physical sales were alarmingly low. Nonetheless, this may be caused by the ongoing pandemic that determined the closure of stores. On the other hand, Capcom made no official comment regarding the Resident Evil 4 Remake.
