Redmi 6 Pro is amongst the devices that will receive the MIUI 12 update. As for the Redmi Note 6 Pro, the details are still uncertain. Most users expect the device to get an MIUI 12 update, as well, but the company didn’t mention it in the list of smartphones.
So, what’s there left to believe anymore? Back in 2018, Xiaomi launched the two smartphones at the same time. Both devices are similar in terms of specs and other configurations. But why only one of them will receive the MIUI 12 update?
The MIUI 12 Update on Redmi Note 6 Pro – Latest Details and Rumors
The fact that two similar smartphones won’t get the same treatment is somehow confusing. Most likely, Xiaomi’s decision to prioritize the Redmi 6 Pro’s update process is a logical one. It’s hard to believe that the MIUI 12 update won’t be available for the Redmi Note 6 Pro at all. Both smartphones are almost identical when it comes to specs and features, meaning that the Note 6 Pro has the same chances as the Redmi 6 Pro.
As Xiaomi has already launched the MIUI 12 updates in China, it started to divide its lineup into many categories, dubbed phases. The smartphones part of the first phase will get the MIUI 12 first, and so the others will receive the update soon, in the established order. The Redmi Note 6 Pro didn’t make it to the list, but it’s still got lots of chances.
According to estimates, the third and the final announced phase of the MIUI 12 update would get completed by August. Then, Xiaomi will center on the remaining smartphones. So, the Redmi Note 6 Pro might get the update somewhere in October, while the users outside China, might have to wait until next year or so.
