The story of much-acclaimed 1987 Predator series surprises us again with one intriguing yet so innovative return. Fans are thrilled to find out that the Predator: Hunting Grounds, an edgy, challenging game from IllFonic, will debut soon.
The game was presented recently at the popular Gamescom event. It will be released this year, without a confirmed date, exclusively for PlayStation 4. The trailer, unfortunately, doesn’t unveil any gameplay, but it does indicate that whoever gets to lead the Predator will receive its technology and advanced skills. So, players will have to try the guttural purr or the active camo.
Charles Brungardt, part of the IllFonic team, stated that in the game, one side of users would manage a fire group that is equipped with proper firepower. So, one player begins with the Predator role and gets to utilize its trademark Plasmacaster. The paramilitary players will do the shooting job, and obtain loot as the Predator closes in, hunting and attacking its victim.
More about Predator: Hunting Grounds
Predator: Hunting Grounds is among only games in the industry to allow players to experience playing as the antagonist, as well. The game will introduce you to a memory path of a movie franchise. The mechanics of the game resemble the movie Alien vs. Predator. So, we can consider it very much as an adaptation of the movie franchise, which was rebooted as a new game.
Moreover, Brungardt explained that IllFonic is teaming up with 20th Century Fox and Sony to make the game PS4 exclusively. It is possible, however, to see it coming for many other platforms, too.
IllFonic had also made the crowdfunded Friday the 13th: The Game, which resembles the 2017 horror movie with the same title. Even if we don’t know when the game will be released, we should wait for more Spring events.
