Pokemon Go’s 2020 First Community Day Confirmed to Start On January 19

We have some great news to share with Pokemon GO fans! Niantic has announced that the game’s first Community Day of 2020 is scheduled to start on January 19th. To make things even better, the game publisher also revealed what are the Pokemon that players will be able to catch during the period and what type of rewards they will receive. With that said, let’s go ahead and check out everything there is to know about the upcoming Community Day so that we can be prepared.

Piplup Spawn Rate is Increasing

The first thing that we want to mention about the Community Day is that the spawn rate of Piplup in the wild be increased significantly. Therefore, we are advising all Pokemon GO fans to make sure to stock up on Piplup Candy because it’s going to be a long time before Piplup will be this easy to find and gather.

Not only that, but the event is also giving players the chance to catch a Shiny Piplup. If you are wondering if the Shiny Piplup is worth the effort, then you should know that the answer is yes. This Pokemon evolves into Empoleon only two hours after the event ends.

More Bonuses

If the increased spawn rate of Piplup is not enough to get you excited for the Community Day event, then you should be pleased to find out that Niantic is also introducing a bunch of other bonuses. Any Lure Modules that players will use during the event are going to be modified to last for three hours. This is a big important, especially when considering that Lure Modules usually last for 30 minutes. Additionally, Pokemon eggs will hatch at a quarter of the distance that players are normally required to walk or run.
