PlayStation 5: PS4 Gamers Have Another Reason to Stick with Sony

We’re only several months away before the PlayStation 5 console will launch, and we can already feel the tremendous excitement flowing in the air. Imagining how FIFA 20, GTA 5, Sniper Elite 4, or Call of Duty will look on the upcoming console from Sony is enough reason to be willing to get your hands on the next-gen gaming machine.

But surely there are PlayStation gamers who thought at least once about switching to an Xbox console, whether it’s about the Xbox One or the upcoming Xbox Series X. But the latest info we have about PlayStation 5 is giving them a good reason to stick with Sony’s consoles.

The backwards compatibility is the answer

Sony proves once more that it knows how to keep its customers and even make new ones. The backwards compatibility for PS5 means that the upcoming console will be capable of running many of the PS4 games. Sony recently announced what will PS5 be capable of, and now the PlayStation players have another reason to stick with these consoles: thousands of PS4 games will be available also on the PlayStation 5 console.

The PS5 console will be featuring the following specifications::

  • CPU: AMD Zen 2-based CPU with 8 cores at 3.5GHz (variable frequency)
  • GPU: 10.28 TFLOPs, 36 CUs at 2.23GHz (variable frequency)
  • GPU architecture: Custom RDNA 2.
  • Memory interface: 16GB GDDR6 / 256-bit.
  • Memory bandwidth: 448GB/s.
  • Internal storage: Custom 825GB SSD.

There had been enough speculations online about what Sony’s upcoming console is made of, but now we can be certain. The above-mentioned specs were revealed by Sony itself. The next big question is which one of the two upcoming consoles will be better – PS5 or Xbox Series X?
