Epic Games Store has just announced what game will be free for a week: Overcooked. If this rings a bell, it is because Overcooked was free once before on Epic Games Store, just a year ago, starting on July 4, 2019.
Players could be now left to wonder what happened to Ark: Survival Evolved. That game was the mid-May leak, which was indicated to come after the last week’s free game, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. According to a message that was posted yesterday, Studio Wildcard, Ark: Survival Evolved’s developer, the game will be made available for free next week.
The developers wrote that because of the situation currently going on in the US and the rest of the world, the ARK in-game celebration would be rescheduled until Thursday, June 11, instead of the current date. The developers are aware that their community was looking forward to the Ark in-game party and to the launch of Crystal Isles, and they are still looking forward to sharing everything that they have prepared for their fanbase the following week. They have also mentioned that considering the things going on in the present day, they felt that it would be somewhat inappropriate to celebrate the game’s milestones. Studio Wildcard has said that they believe that now is the time to stand back and respectfully listen to the voice of others. The developers’ announcement makes no mention of their free week on the Epic Games Store, but one would probably be right to assume that the free week will be delayed as well.
But enough about Ark: Survival Evolved. Let us now focus on the week’s free game, Overcooked, which might not be an AAA release, but is definitely an interesting play. Overcooked is a local co-op game where up to four players participate in a cooking contest and is perhaps one of the best couch party games made.
