New Planet of the Apes Movie Confirmed By Its Director

The movie a New Planet of the Apes is in development from Maze Runner, having Wes Ball as director. The first time we had heard about the film, it wasn’t clear if we will see a continuation of the series from 2011, or a reboot. Now, Ball is saying on his Twitter account that “Caesar’s legacy will continue.” What everybody can understand from this statement is that a New Planet of the Apes is a follow-up to the title War for the Planet of the Apes.

New Planet of the Apes movie confirmed

If we take Ball’s statement, we can affirm the movie will continue from where it remained. However, things are not entirely clear, so the statement could also mean something else. Everything started from a story about the new movie being a reboot, and it will have no connection with the three movies. Making a short recap, we have Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and War for the Planet of the Apes.

Also, the three films were a 20th Century Fox production, and they have the base from the novel called the same, written by Pierre Boulle. The first film launched in 1968, and after that, many extensions and sequels appeared.

Details on the cast and more

The first movie starred Charlton Heston, and from 2001, the series got a reboot by Tim Burton, having the actors Mark Wahlberg and Helena Bonham Carter. Robert Iger, who is the CEO of Disney, is saying that the New Planet of the Apes is essential and has priority after buying it from Fox.

Overall, the entire reboot series of Planet of the Apes has around $1.6 billion at the box office and veteran actors such as Andy Serkis, who plays Caesar’s role, James Franco, Woody Harrelson, and Gary Oldman.
