Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord will be available a day earlier than it was initially meant for Steam Early Access users. If you are a Steam Early Access member, you will be able to download the medieval action RPG a day earlier than others, on March 30.
While you might believe that a day is nothing compared to the eight years that were required to develop the game, it’s still a nice perk to have.
Extra Benefits
Mount & Blade II will also include a 10% discount for two whole weeks after its launch. Additionally, if you own an older title from the series, you are eligible for an extra 10% discount in certain digital stores, too.
Believe it or not, the reason behind all of this is Covid-19!
The team believes that it’s an ideal period to release a new game, as most people are home, getting increasingly bored, as they have revealed in a post on their dedicated blog.
“But we know that the current situation has placed a lot of people in a difficult position when it comes to balancing their finances and risking their health,” they added so that the discounts are also well justified.
Efficiency And Adaptivity
The Studio has worked on the game’s final stages remotely due to the worldwide Coronavirus threat, but it kept the same fast development pace.
“We have tried to make the best of a bad situation and thankfully, with the help of our IT team, have been able to continue work on the project from home. This has come with its challenges, of course, but we are still very grateful and lucky to work in an industry where it is possible to work remotely, which we know isn’t the case for many of you.”
They are a perfect example of perseverance and coordination that produces beautiful results to relieve stress in such harsh times.
Too bad the extra discount for owning their previous games does not appear to work on Steam… I would probably have bought it by now if it was working properly – I don’t want a credit back to use later on something else – the idea is a discount against a purchase I would otherwise not make at all.
There is already a thread about this not working on Steam, so perhaps Valve oor Taleworlds will get it to work… eventually.
