Injustice: Gods Among Us Is Available for Free

It is time for Bruce Wayne to put down the credit card and fight like a real superhero. The fantasy fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us, a game developed by Netherrealm, is now available to download and even to keep permanently entirely for free. We do not now exactly why, but the publisher, WB Games, has decided to give away the Ultimate Edition of Injustice: Gods Among Us, which came out in 2013, on Steam. The offer lasts until Thursday 25, so it lets you pick up some really nice superhero fights for no money at all. It is definitely a deal worth looking into.

Released 7 years ago, Injustice: Gods Among Us is a fighting game set in the DC Universe. Its developers, Netherrealm, are the same people that developed the Mortal Kombat series. This game is certainly not as violent and bloody as the well-known fighting series, but many elements from Mortal Kombat carry over into Injustice: Gods Among Us. This can be seen in the brutal fist fights and in the surprisingly well-delivered story, where Superman goes all crazy on his enemies.

What is the point of giving a seven-year-old fighting game, though? PC Gamer has a somewhat wacky, but entirely plausible theory. The free week for Injustice: Gods Among Us could be a reminder to fans about the upcoming Fandome event, which could even see the Batman: Arkham series return after a long, long break. Of course, this is just speculation at the moment.

For now, the only thing that you are getting here is the Ultimate Edition, which comes together with six brand new characters, 60 S.T.A.R missions and 30 new skins. There is even a character-specific challenge mode in the Ultimate Edition of the game. Naturally, Injustice 2 only appeared a few years after this installment.
