How Red Dead Redemption 3 Could Ruin the Series?

Red Dead Redemption 3 could be a bad idea for Rockstar Games. That is mostly because the current cast of characters is used up and there is not much else to say in the story. For now, it has only been a meager two years since the release of Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar Games may want to wait a bit more before releasing the next installment, although a third installment in the series could be prepared by the game studio. That is because the game could prove extremely harmful to the franchise if it is not done properly.

The previous installment was released in 2018 after waiting for eight full years between the two installments. The first game was about the adventures of John Marston when he tracked down and murdered his former gang members, led by Van Der Linde. On the other hand, the next game is about John, Arthur Morgan and the rest members of the previous game.

Both installments received praise for the high-quality graphics and the immersive gameplay. That is what makes Red Dead Redemption the best franchise for Rockstar after the Grand Theft Auto games. If you consider how many Grand Theft Auto games appeared after the success of the first parts of the series, there is also a chance for Red Dead Redemption to keep growing.

The problem is, at least in my opinion, that, if Rockstar decides to extend the life of Red Dead Redemption just like they did with Grand Theft Auto, the series will become increasingly boring and predictable. The reason why Red Dead Redemption is so popular is because of the amazing attention to detail that Rockstar gives the games. The environment is highly immersive and the story and the gameplay simply fit together. If games in the series keep appearing, the quality is sure to drop.
