Deadpool 3 is one of the most anticipated sequels of all time, though the date when it will be released is yet to be known.
The second Deadpool movie was a total success, but some say that the not-so-PG-friendly anti-hero couldn’t possibly fit into Disney’s family-friendly MCU.
However, Deadpool 3 might happen at some point.
“We’re working on it right now with the whole team. We’re over at Marvel [Studios] now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It’s kinda crazy,” stated Ryan Reynolds in December 2019.
Nevertheless, that was weeks before the world was struck by the novel coronavirus pandemic, which dramatically affected the progress of making movies.
Possible Release Date
Unfortunately for us, Deadpool 3 wasn’t part of Marvel’s Phase 4 announcement at Comic-Con 2019, which was concerning for those who had high hopes.
However, writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese highlighted that the movie will happen, but they are still working on an adequate plot.
“Marvel has promised to continue to let us play in the R-rated Deadpool universe, and the hope is that they will also let us veer into the MCU a little bit as well and play in that sandbox,” Wernick said.
Ryan Reynolds and the writers concluded that the movie’s idea has to be “the right idea; it’s got to be great.” They will start working on the project as soon as they find that idea.
However, We don’t know if they found the “perfect” idea, and even if they did, the ongoing pandemic would likely prevent them from working on the movie.
Deadpool 2 took less than a year from the moment they started filming to the worldwide cinema release, so if they start filming by the end of 2020, or in 2021, we’ll probably see the movie in cinemas by 2022.
