Finally, Activision has officially announced Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. This is the first new Crash game in over ten years. Toys for Bob, the developers of Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, have recently declared that the game is set after the end of the original Crash trilogy, developed by Naughty Dog. In this sequel, Neo Cortex, Uka Uka and Dr. N. Tropy are stranded on a far away planet. Some of the playable characters in Crash Bandicoot 4 : It’s About Time include Neo Cortex, Coco and Crash.
At any given time, players can play as either Coco or Crash. Both of these bandicoots share the exact same skillset, so that should make it comfortable for players. At some point in the game you can play as Neo Cortex, which is a mad scientist that uses various inventions, such as a ray-gun that can transmogrify enemies and hazards into platforms. These platforms can be static, solid or bouncy, depending on Neo’s level, among other things.
The game also contains four quantum masks found all across the universe. For now, we know exactly what two of these are: the gravity mask and the time mask. The time mask can slow down time down to a crawl, while the gravity mask lets players flip the direction of gravity itself, enabling actions such as walking on the ceiling.
Another interesting element of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is the different art style. The developers are excited to bring forward a fresh visual direction for the game, maintaining the wacky spirit of the series, while also bringing new life into the game. Fans can look forward to zany new worlds, vistas that are full of life and an enormous variety of hazards and enemies. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is currently scheduled to release on October 2 2020 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
