The Batman, starring Robert Pattison is currently in works, and former-Batman Ben Affleck still does not want to reprise his role in the DCEU. Warner Bros.’ cinematic universe has a tricky history when it comes to the Dark Knight.
Ben Affleck won’t play Batman anytime soon
Ben Affleck, the renowned actor, was cast as the next Bruce Wayne in Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. Then he made its appearance in Suicide Squad and Justice League, and it was believed that he would reprise his role as Batman in a solo-film, which was initially written by Affleck himself.
But as we started to hear more about ‘the behind the scenes’ of the DC films, we learned more about so did Affleck’s commitment to the role. First, he stepped down as the director due to health issues. His version started to change a bit.
Matt Reeves was hired as the director, and it was uncertain if Affleck will reprise his role. In 2019, Robert Pattinson was cast as the new Batman, and it was confirmed that the action would take place during Bruce’s early days as a crime-fighter. Affleck used this to say goodbye to Batman and to focus on other projects.
Affleck wants to see Robert Pattinson’s version of Batman first
In an interview, Affleck was asked if he was ever going to play Batman ever again. He stated politely that his time as Batman is over. He is grateful for the time playing the superhero, and he said he “had an opportunity to write and direct and kind of star in a standalone Batman [film],” it occurred around the same time he “kind of lost interest in those stories.” He also said that he could not wait to see Robert Pattinson in the role of Batman in the new movie.
