Apparently, there is some good news for fans of the Assassin’s Creed series. If we want any official updates about the game, we have to wait until July 12, when the Ubisoft Forward event will take place, of course, virtually. However, gamers have gotten their hands on something more raw and more telling than, probably, anything that Ubisoft chooses to present at the Ubisoft Forward event. That’s right, some gameplay footage from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been leaked. Half an hour of this footage is now all over the internet and it is really obvious that there is still a lot more to work on in the game. The footage is full of NPCs that are just standing upright in the middle of fights. Besides, a lot of animations, ranging from fighting animations to object interactions look like they still have to be polished somewhat.
The links to this gameplay footage can be found on Reddit and they have not yet been taken down. If you click on it and choose to take a forbidden look at the game, you will see a quest involving the unification of East Anglia. In order to achieve such a historical task, a Viking-held castle has to be assaulted. Together with other Vikings, providing you with longhsips, you have to the unthinkable. Some elements of the game are very similar to Odyssey, such as the inventory, the interface, and a lot of the combat. When you ride a horse though Northwic, you tend to get some Witcher 3 vibes. Personally, the plains of East Anglia ready made me feel like I was riding through the war-torn Velen on my way to see the Bloody Baron. The game even has a cinematic camera option, this time giving off some Red Dead Redemption vibes. Since this is early footage, however, the cinematic camera makes you hit every bump in the road.
