Finally, Amazon Prime Video is introducing user profiles, just as Netflix already does. This means that you and your friends can have your own profiles, which will come with recommendations, watch history, and a list of preferences. This comes in handy, especially when you’re watching a series, and you need to have a saved history and season progress.
Profiles on this streaming service are usually one of the features that users have demanded from Amazon. We know that Amazon competes with Netflix, so it has taken quite a time for Amazon to bring in this fantastic feature. When thinking about this competition, users can actually create up to 6 profiles on Amazon Prime Video. Netflix only has 5.
Amazon Prime Video Introduced The User Profiles Feature
Amazon Prime Video allows its users to create a kids’ profile. The thing is that these profiles come separately from the pre-existing profile that comes by default. These kids feature is also present on Netflix, which makes it easier for users to get content that’s made, especially for children.
We should also keep in mind that Amazon Prime Video profiles are available in only some specific countries and that they will soon come with a wider rollout. Right now, these profiles can be created and deleted, but you always have to keep the primary one. This means that it cannot be deleted. Also, profiles can have different colors, but you cannot change the color yet.
Also, you can create a profile from the primary account, and only on certain devices. You can create a profile from Android and iOS devices, the Prime Video app on Fire TV (but only in India), the Fire Tablets, Chromecast, and some apple TVs. You can also create profiles from the browser. Keep in mind that you cannot create or edit or delete Prime Video profiles on the Fire TV home screen or Alexa with a screen, or Fire Gen 9 and below tablets or other home devices.
